How To Recycle Electronics and Appliances

For electronics, we currently have a recycle bin for computer towers, printers, and laptops with their batteries removed. Call for any other items you may have. Another option is to check with Best Buy and Staples to learn about their take-back programs.

WCSW will accept Freon appliances from businesses with or without a certificate of evacuation for a fee, residents may bring in a Freon appliance with or without the certificate at no charge. All other appliances are accepted as regular household waste.

When it comes to batteries, WCSW encourages all residents to take batteries to Batteries Plus for disposal. Batteries Plus will accept all battery chemistries from residents for free at their Washington location. They will accept small integrated electronic batteries like cell phones and tablets but will not accept e-cigarette batteries with juice. Batteries must be smaller than 11 pounds or 300wh and cannot be leaking, bulging or recalled. They also will not accept ebike or scooter batteries. 

WCSW will accept ebike batteries and car batteries. We will also accept scooter batteries, provided they are removed from the scooter first.
